Sudha Rao Kumar
Dr. Sudha Rao Kumar is a board-certified psychiatrist and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association with extensive experience in clinical practice, healthcare leadership, and research. She serves as the collaborating and supervising physician to Nurse Practitioner Olajumoke Adeyemi. Together, We co-manage patients, providing high-quality, patient-centered mental health care. Dr. Kumar earned her medical degree and Master of Public Health from Boston University in Massachusetts. She completed her residency in Psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center, where she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based psychiatric care. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Kumar has contributed to psychiatric research and continues to support quality improvement efforts in mental health services. Currently, Dr. Kumar holds the position of Senior Behavioral Medical Director at Optum, leading behavioral health initiatives for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Her past roles include directing behavioral health programs in Utah and Florida, with a focus on utilization management, compliance, and complex case review.
